The Vic Firth Robert van Sice Series feature two different of mallets: Mono-Tonal and Multi-Tonal. The M113 medium soft marimba mallets are in the Mono-Tonal rubber cores wrapped with layers of yarn with varying tension between layers, allowing little contact noise. The M113 are great general mallets, able to sound great in the lower four octaves of marimba.

The M113 feature long maple shafts for extra reach at larger intervals, which is great for modern marimba music, and are a great choice for repertoire that uses the lower octaves of the instrument.
